Nigeria HPN Multi-Activity Evaluation FGD and KII Results: Ebonyi, Kebbi, and Zamfara states
Abstract: Data for Impact (D4I) is conducting a prospective mixed-methods portfolio evaluation of four USAID/Nigeria Health, Population, and Nutrition (HPN) Activities. The primary focus of this evaluation is to compare an integrated health programming approach with a disease-focused malaria approach. The evaluation results will inform adaptive program implementation and support USAID/Nigeria’s investment strategy prioritization to improve health outcomes.

D4I partnered with the Nigerian research firm, Data Research and Mapping Consult Ltd. (DRMC), to conduct a qualitative assessment in Ebonyi, Kebbi, and Zamfara states to monitor the implementation progress and effectiveness of the HPN Activities. The assessment included key informant interviews (KIIs) with health facility officers in-charge (OICs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with FMC and WDC members, as well as with men and women who were primary caregivers for children under five in communities.

This document details the KIIs and FGDs conducted in Ebonyi, Kebbi, and Zamfara over the course of this assessment as well as key takeaways and considerations.
