D4I pretested responsive care and early learning counseling cards developed by USAID Advancing Nutrition at health facilities in Lusaka, Zambia. This activity was critical to assessing the appropriateness and acceptability of the images and messages among caregivers of children under two in low- and middle-income country settings. For the pretest, D4I conducted focus group discussions with mothers, fathers, and other caregivers, along with in-depth interviews with community health workers, nutritionists, and nurses. Results from the pretest were used by USAID Advancing Nutrition to revise and finalize the counseling cards, designed to support caregiving practices that help children grow and achieve their full potential.
